2015 Itinerary and Programme Overview

Saturday 19 September

- Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club, Manly

It's been a while since the Cruise has been to this part of Moreton Bay and you're in for a treat; FREE Berthing is available for visitors to Manly Harbour from 10am to 2pm (must be booked on your application).

SIGN ON at 2pm at the BBQ area near the Marina Office with meet & greet drinks, nibbles and kid's activities shortly after.

Make sure you're back at the MBTBC Clubhouse at 5.30pm for the big welcome and introduction to the ICBC Committee before our dinner and entertainment for the evening.

Sunday 20 September

- Canaipa Point, Russell Island

Don't forget to collect your Cruz Nooz at MBTBC at 7am for a list of the day's activities and attend the Blessing of the Fleet at 7.15am.

Our Cruise today will include a short stopover at Peel Island's Horseshoe Bay for an hour or two for a commemorative photo on shore and a game on the beach to celebrate our 40th Cruise.

The destination for the night is RQYS' facility on Russell Island. It has a large grassy area, a swimming pool, hot showers and laundry facilities. Caretaker Kevin Ball always puts on a good feed for the Cruisers.

Gather your teams for the 4 Decades of Trivia and wear your most outrageous millinery for our theme for the night, Crazy Hat Party.

Monday 21 September

- Tipplers Licensed Café, South Stradbroke Island

Come ashore in your pyjamas for a Pyjama Parade before you leave for Tipplers Passage.

At 2pm join us on the beach for a game of beach cricket and some races, then pull out the flares and platform shoes to dress up for the evening's theme of Disco Fever 70s. Be entertained by "The Vinyls" with some 70s hits and disco dancing.

Tuesday 22 September

- The Boat Works, Coomera

Today sees the fleet take a leisurely Cruise up the Coomera River to The Boat Works with Lady Skippers at the helm.

At 2pm bring the kids ashore for banner painting, then stay on for pre-dinner drinks. The theme for tonight is Pirates and Wenches, so keep an eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow amongst the scurvy dogs. Arrrrrr....

Wednesday 23 September

- VMR Southport, The Spit, Southport

The 4 Decades Cruising Challenge will take place as we Cruise from The Boat Works via the Southern Arm of the Coomera to VMR Southport. There will be firemen's races on the beach for the Little Cruisers at 1pm and all skippers need to attend the briefing by the Berthing Master at VMR Southport Clubhouse at 4.30pm for SYC berthing the next day.

Dinner is the always popular Spit Roast and the evening's entertainment will be Casino Games and a movie for the kids.

Thursday 24 September

- Southport Yacht Club, Southport

After berthing at the marina, you'll be free to take in the local sights at your leisure or avail yourself of the Club's facilities.

The evening's theme is a Masquerade Mask Party, so don your mask of mystery and get set for a great night. A buffet dinner is on upstairs and then afterwards you could bag a prize in the Treasure Chest. Be entertained and no doubt dance the night away for what is always a great night.

If  you entered the Pride of the Fleet, make sure you've got your vessel ship-shape for the judging from 2pm.

A knots and splices demonstration will take place in the Clubhouse at 2pm, with a sandcastle competition for the kids on the beach adjacent to the deck.

Friday 25 September

- Boathaven, BOAT Club, South Stradbroke Island

Dress your vessel in preparation for the Sail Past from 10am

A FREE sausage sizzle lunch will be on offer at The Haven for all Cruisers and at 2pm meet at BOAT Club ready for Sand Toboganning.

With DECADEnt burgers for dinner, the final night of the Cruise will finish with a bang with our Artists and Musos Talent Quest.

Saturday 26 September

- The Haven, MBTBC, South Stradbroke Island

Overs and Unders with water balloons games will be on from 10.30am and a BYO lunch on shore will be a chance to say farewell to new and old friends before the official close of the Cruise at 2pm.

“In 1976, John Hattrick’s dream became a reality when the first Interclub Bay Cruise was held. This year when we celebrate the 40th Cruise. I wonder when all those inaugural Cruisers stood on the beach at Horseshoe Bay if they really thought that nearly 40 years later the Interclub Bay Cruise would live on.”
